He can wipe out enemy parties, fully heal the party, or instantly kill enemies with no drawback or MP cost. Mog's Dance attacks are powerful in the World of Balance and can be very effective when used properly.

They also allow Mog access to earth, wind, and water-elemental attacks, uncommon elements for the party. All of Mog's Dance attacks rely on his magic, and are mostly offensive attacks but include some status and support attacks. Some Dances share attacks, but the odds of that attack occurring may differ. Each Dance has four attacks with the chances of using them divided into a 7/16 chance, a 6/16 chance, a 2/16 chance, and a 1/16 chance. When Dancing, Mog enters a berserk-like state where he will act automatically each turn until KO'd or petrified. If the battle background is already a kind associated with the Dance selected, Mog will not stumble. When Mog Dances, there is a 50% chance he will stumble and do nothing, but once completed successfully, the battle background changes to the one associated with the Dance. When Mog completes a battle in one of those areas, he will learn the Dance associated with it. There are eight Dances, associated with eight different types of terrain. Mog's ability is Dance, a mixture of the Animals and Gaia battle commands from Final Fantasy V. Coupled with his high magical aptitude, Mog can be a potent physical or magical attacker as needed. With the exception of his ultimate weapon, the Gungnir, spears deal 3x damage when using Jump, letting Mog deal heavy damage. As one of only two characters in the game able to equip spears other than the Impartisan, Mog can use the Dragoon Boots and Dragon Horn to fight as a Dragoon, using Jump attacks that can hit multiple times. Mog's weaponry is unremarkable save for his access to spears. This also makes him invaluable in speedruns and low- level challenges. With Molulu's Charm Mog is extremely useful throughout the World of Ruin-players can use the charm to avoid battles if the party is weak, to complete dungeons faster, and to explore late-game areas without fear of high-powered enemies. Mog's equipment draw gives him many options for armor that boosts his Magic, and the Snow Scarf makes him the hardiest mage in the game. He has an exclusive relic, Molulu's Charm, which eliminates random encounters. When he rejoins later in the World of Balance, he is equipped with a Mythril Spear, Golden Shield, Golden Helm, and Golden Armor.Īlong with Gau and Umaro, Mog is one of three characters able to equip the Snow Scarf, the most powerful piece of defensive gear in the game.

At the start of the game during the battle to save Terra, Mog is equipped with a Mythril Spear and Mythril Shield, which can be removed from him for other party members to use.

Other than all being moogles named Mog, there is no connection between these characters.Mog can equip spears, daggers, universal shields, hats, and light armor. A different Mog appears in the Final Fantasy Fables series, and yet another Mog is a prominent secondary character in the Final Fantasy XIII series.
#MOOGLE MOG FINAL FANTASY SERIES#
Mog is the first in a series of moogles that share this name. Each dance has its own special properties. He learns new dances by fighting in different environments, such as caves, towns, forests, and deserts. Mog is also key to recruiting the sasquatch Umaro. If the player takes the proper course of action, they can find Mog, who will join their party. Mog does not appear again in the game until much later, after Kefka destroys the world. He is a member of one of the player's three parties in the game's first multi-party battle, with the majority of the other party members being moogles that are only playable in this section of the game. The player first encounters Mog early on, in the caves of Narshe, while Locke attempts to escape the city with Terra. He learned the human language from the Ramuh, the esper, in his dreams. Unlike other moogles, Mog has the ability to communicate with humans using their language.

Mog is a moogle that appears in the game Final Fantasy VI, living with the rest of his kind deep inside of the caves of Narshe.
